An excellent oral hygiene sometimes is not enough to have a long-lasting fresh breath. Bad breath is a problem that has many causes: dental problems, bacteria, infection, food or other. A mouthwash that you buy in a store is a solution, however, do you really need all those ingredients in order to have a fresh breath? Are those ingredients healthy? Or are they just simple chemicals?
So, next time try making this homemade mouth rinse. It’s inexpensive, refreshing, easy to make and a healthy option.
- 1/2 spoon cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tablespoons honey
- juice of 2 lemons
- cup of warm water
Cinnamon gets rid of the odor by killing all bacteria that cause bad breath. Honey has antibacterial properties and provides a better taste. Lemon disinfects the oral cavity and has a strong refreshing citrus scent.
Pour the freshly squeezed lemon juice into a bowl, add honey and cinnamon. Pour very warm water into the mixture to melt the honey. Stir well until honey is dissolved. Pour the drink into a bottle or a jar with closed lid. Wait for the drink to cool down (you can put it in the fridge). When you need to freshen up your breath, give it a shake and gargle for a while, and then swallow the mixture.
Besides providing a fresh breath, this drink is very healing and strengthens your immune system.
